The Coalition for Nursing Careers in California (CNCC) was established as an independent coalition of health care organizations, hospital administrators, nurse educators, and nursing faculty working together to address the long-term nursing shortage in California. Its goal is to lead the effort to achieve an adequate and diverse nurse workforce to meet the safety and quality care needs of the people of California. CNCC strives to create a central place for nursing to communicate to those in the community who are considering pursuing a career in nursing, with a focus on community outreach to the youth or under represented minority groups.

“In the midst of the excitement that technology brings, let us not forget the art and compassion that is embedded in the practice of nursing. Treat and care for the person, not the machine. After all, the patient is the MOST important member of the health care team”.
